Though there may be a few covers of those conventional Christmas tracks on the list, these artists have managed to pull it off by adding their unique signature to the music.
When it comes to indie Christmas music, this man is definitely included in a lot of people's playlist. Having released at least 10 Christmas albums, I would have to say that this is one of my favourites.
Bright Eyes - Blue Christmas
One of the best covers of the song. It's simple and not too hard on the ears.
The Killers feat. Dawes - Christmas In L.A.
Usually Christmas is a joyous event for the majority but lets not forget that this is not the case for some. Sadly, some people are less fortunate as for various reasons, they might be living in a different place away from home. Thus, being unable to celebrate with their family or friends. This song by The Killers would definite resonate with those out there who are feeling lonely during the holidays.
This song may be overdone but as expected of the XX they have added their own distinct sounds to it to fit their style.
Classic Christmas beats combined with the vocals of the indie folk duo-it certainly effectuates the holiday mood.
Death Cab For Cutie - Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)
Not exactly the right song to liven up the festive spirit, however it is good to deviate from the upbeat classics every once in a while.
A perfect rock Christmas jam that encourages all the kids to beat the crap out of Santa for the sake of taking his cash. Don't you just wish that you could go back to your childhood again??
Vibrant Xmas imageries seem to just pop out of your mind immediately- doesn't this make your body move?
A bittersweet track; suitable to listen to during the eve.
A Fine Frenzy - Wish You Well
A good song to finish off with by A Fine Frenzy. Her beautiful voice certainly suits the holiday season. She released a whole Christmas EP a couple of years ago. I suggest that you give it a try.
