Cinema Feed #4: La Migliore Offerta (The Best Offer 2013)

"There's always something authentic concealed in every forgery"

To start off fresh for our cinema feed in 2014, we would like to present what we reckoned as the best movie of last year; the latest production by Giuseppe Tornatore, La Migliore Offerta a.k.a The Best Offer.

Trailer:

If you are familiar with the past Tornatore productions such as the warm-hearted Cinema Paradiso and The Legend of 1900, you will be rather surprised with the peculiar and unsettling charm that is distinct in The Best Offer. With the plot revolving around a reputable yet solitary auctioneer who was obsessed with a shadowy mansion heiress. Soon caught himself into a sequence of puzzling events. It is a two-hour stimulating journey that leads its audience to unfold layers and layers of mysteries and human nature, in a slow and enticing manner.

In our opinion, this is truly a masterpiece that defines exquisiteness; a flawless storyline with unexpected twist. Every single detail has its own arrangement that contributes to the puzzle and would leave you contemplating by questioning the various aspects of life. Moreover, the brilliant portrayal by Geoffrey Rush as a refined lonely man fits perfectly with the beautiful score by Ennio Morricone. It simply allows your emotions to be fully engaged with the character as the story flows.Watch it if you haven't, it is the one beyond entertaining and leaves different conclusion for different people.

Share your thoughts with us if you have already watched it, we're welcome for movie discussions.
