The Units - High Pressure Days
The Units - High Pressure Days
They were an early electronic, synthpunk band based in San Francisco and were active during the late 1970s and early 80s. The repetitive beats throughout the track is extremely addicting and it certainly makes the track suitable as background music for a fashion show.
Oufit - House on Fire
They are a psychedelic pop group from Liverpool. 'House on Fire' is one of the tracks from their debut album 'Performance'. Similar to 'High Pressure Days,' this track has repetitive beats throughout which are addicting at first, however it does have a negative effect once you're halfway through the song.
Burberry Prorsum:
The Night VI - Lover, You Should've Come Over
A six-member co-ed Anglo-French band based in London. Some of their tracks have been used by Burberry in the past. Since the majority of their songs are acoustic, it wouldn't be a surprise if they are featured again in their future promotions.
Paloma Faith - Just Be (Acoustic Version)
A touching track by the English singer/songwriter. The song exhibits her powerful voice well and it also helps to change the mood midway through the show.
Patrick Wolf - The Magic Position
An upbeat track to end the show with by English singer/songwriter, Patrick Wolf. It's a great track to liven up the mood after having several acoustic songs played throughout most of the show.
Hackett:
The company puts in quite a lot of effort at selecting the background music for their shows. Last season they hired an orchestra to play at their show, while this season they have opted for a progressive-rock instrumental track. Though it may not be as magnificent as the orchestra, the track still fulfils its function at the show and it does make out to be a decent ambient piece to listen to.
Alexander McQueen:
Bauhaus - Bela Lugosi's Dead
A gothic rock track to pair up with the brand's gothic concept for this season. The remix version used in the show sure does set the eerie mood up. Although the original starts out sexy, it progresses into something that is slightly too heavy for us here.
Fashion shows are always something to look forward to as they are good opportunities for us to discover new music, and also for bands to get some exposure. It's interesting that each brand had opted to use a different genre of music to match with their shows.
