Milan Menswear Fashion Week AW14: Z Zegna

As a sub-brand of the Italian Luxury Fashion House, Ermenegildo Zegna, ZZegna has distinguished itself with much more youthful and energetic designs that are meant to attract younger generations. Even so, the designs in the past collections were always less appealing to us. However, this is not the case this time round. As Paul Surridge, the creative director of Z Zegna has launched a splendid "The Quintessential Modernist" AW14 collection.

In reference to the Mod subculture that originated from London during the sixties, nostalgic elements such as high-cuff cropped pants, sleeve garters, and slim cut striped suits were used in the designs to recreate the sleek modernist look. It had not only demonstrated the outstanding tailoring skill of Zegna, but also proved the timeless charm from the most celebrated era.

To a certain extent, the vibe of this collection has reminded us of the early transformation of Burberry where dynamic liveliness was incorporated with British heritage. Burberry still follows that vision but is not as refreshing as compared to what Z Zegna had given this time. We do not have any favourites this time as we simply love the entire collection!
