Mode à Paris: Menswear AW14 - Givenchy
Inspired by his adolescent career with basketball and obsession with Bauhaus, Riccardo Tisci unveiled the latest AW14 collection of Givenchy in a fancy, neon pink mockup basketball court. The crowded audience were separated by the iron fence, undertaking them with excitement to this luxurious street game. Sounds like an overwhelming brilliant concept!
Yet, the notion of the apparels do not attract us. With reference to basketball themes; net, court lining etc. graphics are used for both tops and pants. Fur materials are also used in vests, and scarves that resemble towels hanging around the neck after a rigorous game. Despite the inputted effort, unfortunately we'll have to say 'No' to this collection as it just looks too bulky and fancy. We love the creativity, but definitely not the design.
