An attention grabbing debut single by London based singer/songwriter duo Gold Spectacles. Little is known of the group except that they are a collaborative effort between two singer/songwriters.
Upon hearing the intro, the Spanish guitar opening and the bass line immediately caught my attention. In particular, the bass line gives off this retro disco vibe that is magnificently infectious, thus making this single extremely catchy. It's also somewhat refreshing to hear subtle touches of acoustic and electronic sounds throughout the song. Of course, the obscure harmonies between the male and female vocals are also an appealing factor to the song.
Although this band is an enigma at the moment, this single makes me look forward to their future releases. Finally, be sure to check out their debut which is set for release on the 25th January.
