Music Feed #9: "Coming of Age" by Foster The People
After almost 3 years since releasing their debut, the Californian 3-piece are returning with their soon-to-be released Sophomore album, 'Supermodel.' The album is set for release on 18th March and to give everyone a taste beforehand, they have launched their lead single Coming of Age, earlier this week.
Having picked up from where their debut, 'Torches' left off, the single is packed with jaunty guitar riffs, dreamy melodies and frontman, Mark Foster's lovely vocals. All are particular if you've come from their debut. While it may sound like the epilogue of their debut, Mark Foster had dropped a hint previously that the upcoming album will 'not be the record people expect.' Hopefully, we'll be seeing some transformations from them, particularly with their sounds.
So far, the single is indeed growing on me; the drum intro is one of my favourite parts of the song. I also love the dreamy style created, definitely will see myself setting it on repeat. As for the accompanying video, it depicts a gigantic mural being painted on a wall. The final product seems to be the album cover for their upcoming LP.
