Music Feed #15: Introducing: Boho Dancer

Beautiful, heartwarming, yet delicate, Boho Dancer are a Danish trio who make music that is comforting to those who may be feeling emotionally vulnerable or off putting on any particular day. Consisting of lead vocalist Ida Wenøe, and bandmates, Simun Mohr and Asker Bjork, the trio began making music in 2009 and since then, had gone on to releasing their debut album towards the end of last year.

Drawing inspiration from Patti Smith, Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen, Wenøe initially began her song-writing experience as a form of therapy to tackle the sadness she felt as a child. Therefore, most of the songs by the band have a melancholic yet powerful vibe to it.

Listen to their title track Gemini from their same-titled album below as it's the song that best defines them:

My two favourite tracks from them are Mountains and Fictional Reasons released as singles earlier in 2013. Comforting and relaxing, both tracks have this breezy, whimsical folk sound to them which are more suited for a lighter mood.

Be sure to also check out their debut album Gemini if you enjoy the material posted here. See you soon!
