Once again it's another newcomer! Residing in Toronto, Canadian artist Steve Benjamins spends his time making music in his bedroom with his keyboard, guitar and microphone. The outcomes of his effort is demonstrated in his debut EP Disorientation Man released back in December last year.
Disorientation Man is built with layered instruments as well as Steve's mild, sincere vocals from the beginning, which eventually leads to the culminating orchestral finish in Strangeness. What's enjoyable about this record is that as you proceed through the tracklist, more and more emotions accumulate, seemingly corresponding with the intensity of the instrumentation. Oh, and the falsetto opening in Somehow, Someday, Everything Becomes Something Else is definitely worth the mention.
