Prepare yourselves as American rock duo The Black Keys are gearing up for their upcoming album set to be released on 13th May. Coming off their forthcoming record Turn Blue, is their freshly unveiled first single, Fever.
The song, not so much of a classic rock deal, is largely driven by a sleek bass line along with some funky synths. While their grungy garage blues days have become a distant memory, the band's gradual transition into a modern, clean-cut sound isn't necessarily a bad move after all. Though for hardcore fans, the switch could leave them in permanent bereavement.
Based on this track, I'm enjoying the current route that the band is taking even though I do miss their garage-blues vibes and hope that it will be present in the album. I don't see why a band shouldn't evolve especially if it could potentially be as solid as their previous material.
