Music Feed #30: "AMERIPPINDUNKLER" EP by Cari Cari

Impressive–the word itself probably isn't even enough to describe the quality of material these two have dished out. Hailing from Vienna, Austria, Cari Cari consists of Stephanie Widmer and Alexander Köck, who both take on the role as vocalists on top of playing a handful of other instruments. They may just be starting out, however I'm sure that you would agree with me that they would travel quite far after giving their debut EP a listen.

Their five-track debut EP, AMERIPPINDUNKLER unveiled earlier this year showcases the duo's sexy blues-rock vibes which is often partnered with a southern rock drum beat. Much of this is visible in their track No War–that long introduction is extremely seductive for those of you who are into rough, twangy guitar riffs. It's definitely one of the tracks in the EP which could effortlessly melt your mind while you mercilessly batter the repeat button.

With the semi-lo-fi tracks White Line Fever and No War nurturing that passionate, sultry mood to its finest, the other three tracks let you alternate between the flavours that the duo has to offer as they are slotted in between the aforementioned tracks. While retaining their signature blues-rock and punchy drum beats, tracks like 1974 in general have a stronger, more robust sound both vocal and instrumental wise. I especially like the additional mild, folksy flavour that they implemented into the instrumentation. Hopefully, they will continue to spoil us with similar material in the near future.
